You might like to know that there are some things you can do to prepare for your wax appointment. First, your hair should be at least a quarter inch to a half-inch in length. It is also recommended that you do not shave at least two to three weeks prior to your appointment to ensure the hair is long enough and maintains a soft texture. This also allows any razor bumps or irritation to subside for a less painful experience. Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to your visit as alcohol thins your blood and makes your skin more vulnerable. I recommend that you exfoliate with a gentle scrub to get rid of any dead skin which may block pores after the wax and cause ingrown hairs.
For 24-48 hours after your wax, your skin may be red and sensitive to touch. You should avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or using highly perfumed toiletries during this time, as it may cause discomfort.
